The brown fused alumina furnace produces crystallized brown molten mass from high aluminous agglomerates, carbon material, and iron scrap. These materials are evenly fed into an electric arc furnace for high-temperature melting and impurity reduction, resulting in aluminum oxide content of 94.5%-97%.
The smelting process utilizes the principle that oxygen has greater affinity than iron, silicon, and titanium. Controlled reduction agent quantity enables impurity reduction through reduction smelting, forming ferrosilicon that separates from the fused alumina molten liquid to produce high-quality brown fused alumina with over 95% alumina content.
White fused alumina is produced by melting industrial alumina powder at high temperatures. It features higher hardness but lower toughness than brown fused alumina, making it ideal for grinding high carbon steel, high speed steel, and quenched steel. Also used for polishing materials, precision casting molding sand, spraying materials, chemical contact agents, special ceramics, and advanced refractory materials.
