Upon the construction, installation, and commissioning of a circular cooling tower, the manufacturer is required to furnish comprehensive data on all its characteristics. This includes thermal properties, resistance characteristics, water load, heat load, ambient temperature (both dry bulb and wet bulb temperatures), cooling range, air volume, power consumption, water evaporation rate, water replenishment rate, concentration ratio, fan power consumption, and water pressure entering the tower. These parameters should be systematically recorded by the relevant competent departments of the user unit.
To assess the operational effectiveness of the cooling tower or evaluate its cooling capacity, it is essential to conduct either indoor tests or on-site identification tests on the operational cooling tower. This necessitates not only the presence of skilled technical personnel for testing and research but also a complete set of standardized test methods and a comprehensive array of test instruments and meters (some with spare parts). These may include thermometers, micro-manometers, pressure gauges, sound level meters, among others.
To maintain a clean and unobstructed hot water system, including regulators, voltage stabilizers, water delivery and distribution pipes, nozzles, and sprinklers, adjust the water flow in each tank of the distribution pool to achieve uniform water depth (ranging between 100 and 150 cm). In the event of significant changes in the circulating water entering the tower, corresponding adjustments should be made to the water distribution pipes and nozzles.
In conclusion, adhering to these routine maintenance precautions for cooling towers is crucial for ensuring their efficient and reliable operation, prolonging their service life, and minimizing downtime and repair costs.
