Vacuum Oxygen Decarburization VOD Furnace 50 Ton LRF In Steel Making
(VD/VOD) Vacuum Oxygen Decarburization Furnace cutting parts for 50 Ton Ladle Refining Furnace at manufacturing plants. In recent years, secondary vacuum refining techniques have gained popularity and further development in the metallurgical industry.
The industry focus has shifted from quantity to variety diversification and high quality. Achieving super purity indexes (total [H], [N], [O], [S], [P] ≤50ppm or lower) reflects product quality, with secondary vacuum refining being the most effective method.
Key Refining Processes
VD/VOD Ladle Vacuum Refining
This process strengthens argon blowing at the furnace bottom, providing adequate molten steel stirring for ideal dynamic effects. When combined with LF, it achieves optimal refining temperatures with simple structure and low cost.
Both processes can dehydrogenize, denitrify, desulfurize, and deoxidize under vacuum conditions while achieving Vacuum Oxygen Decarburization (VOD) for super pure steel production.
Vacuum Pump Systems
Based on ten years of research and application, we've developed two series:
  • Full steam jet vacuum pump system - Uses water steam and cooling water as working medium
  • Steam jet + water ring vacuum pump system - Uses less steam and cooling water with minimal electricity consumption
Refining Process Details
1. Dehydrogenation
At ≤133Pa vacuum, hydrogen content [H] ≤1.5ppm. Our system operates below 67Pa to ensure dehydrogenation requirements, accounting for process variables like steel grade and argon stirring.
2. Denitrification
While nitrogen removal is challenging due to alloy element relationships, we recommend reducing nitrogen content before VD treatment and extending treatment time for optimal results.
3. Desulfurization
Sulfur content relates to oxygen levels, making vacuum deoxidation simultaneously a desulfurization process. For ultra-low sulfur grades, we use specialized desulfurizers with strong sulfur affinity.
4. Argon Stirring
Our system features independent argon flow adjustment per vacuum tank, controlled by mass flow modules for precise automatic regulation. This ensures optimal conditions for molten steel physical/chemical reactions.
